David M. 15 Years of Dual-State Real Estate Experience

David has been continuously licensed in real estate in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 2011. He began as a Massachusetts salesperson on April 22, 2011 and held a Rhode Island salesperson license that same year, then elevated both licenses to full broker status in 2015 — earning his Massachusetts Real Estate Broker license (#9537412-RE-B) on July 15, 2015 and his Rhode Island Real Estate Broker license (#REB.0018336) the same year. Inspired by the birth of his son, he also founded Fortified Realty Group, LLC in 2015 and registered the brokerage entity with the Commonwealth (MA broker entity license #422173-RE-LC, December 2015). Holding broker licenses in both states gives Fortified clients seamless representation on both sides of the state line, a meaningful advantage along the Fall River, Tiverton, Newport, Providence, and East Bay corridors.

Fortified is built around what most brokerages outsource: commercial property management and the full asset lifecycle. Construction Credentials: Built for Acquisitions, Renovations, and Asset Management

In 2021, after years of frustration with unreliable contractors on his clients’ projects, David earned a Massachusetts Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License (CS-115183, issued January 15, 2021). The “Unrestricted” classification authorizes him to supervise structural, framing, and full-scope construction projects on buildings up to 35,000 cubic feet — the highest volumetric tier available on the standard CSL. For Fortified Realty Group’s commercial and portfolio clients, that means due diligence walks, capital-improvement planning, code- required repairs, and renovation supervision happen under their own broker, not outsourced to a stranger.

In 2026, David expanded that construction stack with two additional Massachusetts credentials, both currently active:

• Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) registration #219468, issued April 23, 2026 (David previously held HIC registration under an LLC name since 2023, now consolidated under his individual registration). HIC registration is the consumer-facing credential required by Massachusetts General Law Chapter 142A for any contractor performing residential remodeling, and it gives Fortified’s clients access to the state’s Home Improvement Contractor Arbitration and Guaranty Fund.
• Moderate Risk Deleading Authorization #36758-AM, issued March 25, 2026 by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. This authorization allows David to perform moderate-risk lead-paint deleading work on Massachusetts properties — a critical credential in a state with one of the oldest housing stocks in the country, where lead compliance is a recurring obstacle for buyers, sellers, and landlords across both residential and commercial portfolios.

Background, Education & Personal Story

Raised as an Air Force military brat across 1990s Europe, David graduated high school in England in 1997 and earned an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Maryland in Lisbon, Portugal. He returned to the U.S. in 2001 and worked for the Transportation Security Administration from 2002 to 2018, including a stint as a Behavior Detection Officer — a role that sharpened his ability to read people, an asset he now uses across negotiation tables. Before real estate, David performed in the New England hip-hop scene as MC Knowmad with the crew 36oh until 2007.

David lives in Fall River — where his Portuguese-immigrant parents put down roots — with his wife Priscilla (married since 2014) and their two children, a 27-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son.
