HISTORY

First settled in 1670, Fall River, MA quickly became a household name with the boom of the textile industry during the Industrial Revolution.

With the start of the 21st century, Fall River seen a boom in its economy with the growing downtown area. Classy Theaters, waterfront restaurants, and other nightlife attractions are all in walking distance.

B.M.C. Durfee High School is a beautifully built building just finished for the 2021 school year. If you’re looking for an alternative, Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School offers students across Bristol County an opportunity to gain a trade as well as a diploma.

COLLEGES

Fall River, MA is host to UMass Dartmouth’s Professional and Continuing Education Center and the Advanced Technical & Manufacturing Center. However, the main campus in Dartmouth, MA is only a 10-15 minute drive.

Bristol Community College is a 2 year college offering hundreds of certificate, trade, GED, and associate degree options. BCC also offers unique programs for those with special accommodations or in low-income households.

CULTURE/EVENTS

Fall River, MA has a long list of different cultures. Being so diverse, you can find a Portuguese bakery or Asian fusion restaurant at every other corner.

Every year Fall River, MA throws the Great Holy Ghost Festival at Kennedy Park to celebrate the deep roots of Portuguese culture in the city. The 4 day event draws more than 200,000 guests annually.
